![]() ![]() ![]() and wooly boogers are not bad tires, they are a all terrain/mud. this is just the nature of a flotation tire which these machines were equipped with, they mold to the ground under them, which is good, they "float" with the terrain. looks like you in the right direction, all terrain, mud Is useless unless your in it daily. so it looks round on the up, but on the ground its flat or molded to the ground. once someone's body weight and the machine weight is on the tire, the contact patch of the tire gains by the more weight that is placed on it. what kind of riding do you do? lots of dry, dirt, gravel, pavement, snow? or hard, rocky, muddy, slippery? and just because the tire looks round to the eye, what actually touches the ground may surprise you. The tires you had up there look awesome on a picture but were more geared towards a sport quad where they race on a flat surface, but may work, I have seen these on utility quads and they worked and looked great! best place to start is look at pages on tire designs and what they were made to do. not only do all terrains work well everywhere, they work great in snow too! I have been using all terrains on many of my atvs for years, one has a set 10 years old, no wear, and it hooks up on everything, does great on rock, and honestly how often do you go through 10-12 inch deep mud holes longer than 8 feet long? these will get you out of a good size hole but a bog hole I would stay out of and most people would, generally its just hard on your machine Carlisle is my favorite because they are us made and are just well done, but the duro's have a great grip. mud tires are generally for looks, if your not using them for that all the time, they are useless. all terrain styles do far better for the average joe, which has a closer tread like a innova cayman atv, duro desert/x-country, Carlisle all trail, Carlisle hd field trax, Carlisle trail pro. they wear horrible, hook horrible, ride horrible, and handle horrible on dry surface, dirt, gravel, and pavement. narrower is not better, less contact patch. and tires like mud cleats that really have no use unless your going in super deep stuff and bogging. ![]() that means the more rubber touching the ground the better things work. The more contact patch a tire has the better it steers or gripps. View Member Profile Send Email Find Member's Topics Find Member's Posts chainsawman ![]()
